Jim Hudson

JIM HUDSON FLORENCE, SC JIM HUDSON, 89, of Florence, died Sunday, January 2, 2011 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Mr. Hudson was born in Florence, SC a son of the late Willie and Sara Thorps Hudson.He was a US Army veteran having served during World War II.He attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Florence and retired from Tyler Plywood Mill. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sara Ailene Bailey Hudson, who died January 10, 2008 and a daughter, Sara Sawyer. Surviving are his children, William (Jinnie) Hudson, James (Doris) Hudson and Stella Borders, all of Florence; special son-in-law, Roger Sawyer; ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Church of God of Prophecy, 426 South Church Street, Florence, SC29506. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 5, 2011 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. The family wishes to send a special thanks to the staff at the McLeod Trauma Surgical Care Unit.
