Jerry Raymond "Ray" Richardson

Jerry Raymond “Ray” Richardson, 70, of Florence, SC, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

Ray was born in Florence, SC, the son of Patsy Poston Richardson and the late Donald Taylor Richardson. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman and enjoyed tinkering with anything. Ray was very gifted about learning and anything that caught his interest. Ray truly enjoyed his work at Francis Marion College doing ground maintenance.

In addition to his father, he was also predeceased by his wife, Ethel M. Richardson.

Surviving are his mother, Patsy Poston Richardson; brother, Ivan Richardson (Janet G.) of Camden, SC; sister, Joye Richardson Morris (Joey) of Manning, SC; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Nita Ward.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at Friendship Methodist Church from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM at the Church directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Friendship Methodist Church Cemetery.
