Jerry Carsten McCutcheon Florence, SC Jerry Carsten McCutcheon, 74, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 28, 2012. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2012 at South Florence Baptist Church. Burial will be at Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Mrs. McCutcheon was born in Kelly Memorial Hospital, Kingstree, SC a daughter of the late James Christopher and Ida Pearl Sauls Carsten. She was a graduate of Kingstree High School "The Bollweevils" and also Palmer College in Charleston, where she received her Stenographer Degree.She was a member of Cades United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the youth group and later a member of South Florence Baptist Church and the Ladies Three Sunday School Class. She loved sports, having played Basketball and Coached Softball at Friendship Park in Florence. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Rudolph McCutcheon, who died in 1978. Surviving are her three children, Denise (Herbert) Carter and Jimmy Christopher McCutcheon both of Florence, and Lynn McCutcheon of Texas; two grandchildren, Bridget Carter of Florence, and Cody McCutcheon of Texas; sister, Anne (Lynn) McClary of Cades; brother, James "Bud" (Wanda) Carsten of Cades; loving nieces and nephews, Michelle (J.T.) Thompson, Jamie (Miriam) Carsten, Kevin (Gabrielle) Carsten and Robert (Olivia) McClary; her faithful canine companion, her Black Lab, Molly. The family suggests that memorials be made to South Florence Baptist Church, 2720 S. Irby Street, Florence, SC 29505 or the American Cancer Society, 950 48th Avenue North, Suite 101, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. The family will receive Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 at the Funeral Home.
