Jedediah “Jed” Lewis Feistel, 2, of Florence, ran through the gates of Heaven on Sunday, October 8, 2017. Jed was born a son of Richard Lewis Feistel and Abigail Colleen Veldhuis.Jed survived birth despite multiple medical complications including end stage renal failure.At one year old, Jed was diagnosed with hepatoblastoma liver cancer, and sent home on hospice shortly thereafter.Jed’s cancer did not progress as expected, and he was able to receive a liver transplant at two years old.Several weeks later, Jed’s body, tired and overcome by an infection, received perfect healing in the presence of Jesus. Jed was preceded in death by his grandpa, Malcom Feistel, and his aunt, Susan Mallett.In addition to his parents, Jed is survived by his sisters, Adelaide Feistel, Katelyn Feistel and Christina Feistel; maternal grandparents, Stephen Veldhuis and Colleen Veldhuis; paternal grandparents, Carol Burton and Jerry Burton, and paternal great-grandmother, Doris Askew. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2017, in the Florence Baptist Temple (Chapel). Burial will be conducted at Mount Hope Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 13, 2017, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Florence Baptist Temple (Chapel).
