Mrs. Jeanette Baker Green, 85, widow of the late Charles O. Green passed away 2-23-2016 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC after an extended illness. Mrs. Green was born April 28, 1930 in Lydia, SC to the late Ethan and Fannie Baker. She was a graduate of Sumter High School School in 1971 after going to night school to finish her last year of school at the age of 41 and worked as a seamstress and a bookkeeper for several years in Sumter and Florence, SC. She was a member of Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church in Effingham, SC. Mrs. Green is survived by three children:David (Laurie Caulder-) Green of Hillsborough, NC, Gary (Debbie) Green of Effingham, SC, and Brenda (Stanley) Wadford of St. Johns, FL;ten grandchildren: Angie (Mark) Blair of Hartsville, SC, Ashlee (Fred) Reimer of Myrtle Beach, SC, Ellen Green of Florence, SC, Natalie (Micky) Lynch of Florence, SC, Melissa Blackwelder of Florence, SC, James Green of Florence, SC, Nicholas (Katie) Green of Effingham, SC, Seth (Jamie) Green of Houston, TX, Julie (William) Schilling of Simpsonville, SC, and Jennifer (Lee) Edge of Gainesville, FL.She is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren and her dear friend Evelyn Talbert of Patrick, SC. In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by one brother, Barney Baker, and three sisters, Bonnie Mae Hollman, Doris (US) June, and Frances Hicks. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 on Saturday at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home at 2402 S. Irby St in Florence, SC with funeral services at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.Burial will follow at Mt. Elon Baptist Church in Lydia, SC at 1132 W. Lydia Highway.Pastor Mac Atkinson, Jr. of Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church will be officiating services.
