Jean W Peterson

Jean W. Peterson, 92, of Florence, SC, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the McLeod Hospice House. Mrs. Peterson was born in Leland, North Carolina, the youngest daughter of the late Warren Armon Williams and Ella Regan Williams.She attended Leland schools in North Carolina and graduated salutatorian of her class.Before her health failed, she enjoyed sewing, reading, games, and fishing.She was of the Baptist faith.She worked for many years with Belk in Fayetteville, NC and Florence, SC. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Adrian Peterson; a son, Stephen James Peterson; and two sisters, Lois O. Lewis and Amy E. Scales. Surviving are her daughter Sylvia Jean Barber of Florence and Rodney (Helen) Armon Peterson of Kershaw; her grandchildren, Christopher Todd Peterson, Stephanie Paige Peterson, Craig Peterson, and Stephen (Donna) D. Peterson; her great-grandchildren, Christopher James Peterson, Edward Wayne Peterson, Derringer Todd Peterson, Adrian Ray Peterson and Asia Brown; daughter-in-law, Gloria Jean Peterson; special nieces and numerous great nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services were held at 12:00 pm on Monday, March 31, 2014, Florence Memorial Gardens with burial following directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
