IRIS JEAN HAYNES MOORE EFFINGHAM, SC Iris Jean Haynes Moore, 77, of Evergreen, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017. Mrs. Moore was born in Effingham, SC a daughter of the late Jack Dempsey Haynes and Merina Spring Haynes.She was a faithful member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church.She was a member and past director of Tabernacle and Dawsey choirs.She ran Jean Moore’s Beauty Shop for 60 years, was a volunteer with the Look Good, Feel Better program for cancer patients, was a Past President of the SC Cosmetology Association, a member of the National Cosmetology Association, and a member of the ’57 Girls Club of McClenaghan.She retired from the Florence Career Center. You were either fed at her house or you took food home; if you were hungry, she brought food to you. She fed all of our tummies and our souls. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her grandson, Bryan Scott Moore. Surviving are her husband, Douglas Lafon Moore; son, Douglas Bryan (Sherrie) Moore of Effingham; daughter, Tamra Ward (Mike) Dozier of Florence; grandchildren, Kim Moore, Hope Moore and Garrett Ward; brother, Bobby (Barbara) Haynes of Effingham and sister, Nancy Springs (Charles) Ham of Effingham. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Saturday at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Tabernacle United Methodist Church.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
