Jean Anderson Benson

Jean Anderson Benson, 75, died Friday, December 04, 2015 at the Medical University of SC in Charleston. She was born June 29, 1940 in Horry County, SC a daughter of the late Lottie Anderson. She retired in 2014 as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at McLeod Regional Medical Center after 35 years of faithful nursing. She loved her family, cooking, and gardening, and she will be remembered as a loving, good, caring mother and person. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Billy Benson of Florence; two sons, David (Sandra) Benson of Florence and Tim (Kaye) Benson of Charlotte, NC; a daughter, Melinda Benson Norris of Hartsville; a brother, Harold Anderson of Valdosta, GA; grandchildren Heather (Jeremy) Galloway, Megan (Josh) Gause, and Matt and Morgan Benson; and two great grandchildren, Andrew and Addison Galloway. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 7, 2015, in theStoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow in Mt. Hope Mausoleum.
