Janice Celeste Allen

Janice Celeste Allen, 49, of Florence, died suddenly Tuesday morning, December 30, 2014, in a local hospital. Celeste was born in Florence, a daughter of Janice Blackmon Welch (Bobby) and William Gerald “Jerry” Allen (Ronnie). She was a graduate of Florence-Darlington Tech and worked as a Dental Assistant.She was a member of The Florence Baptist Temple. She loved cooking, horses, fishing, boating on the river and vegetable gardening. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Gerald “Bubba” Allen, Jr. and her paternal grandparents, Cyril D. and Marie T. Allen. She is survived by her parents, Janice and Bobby Welch of Florence, Jerry and Ronnie Allen of Florence; her daughter, Taylor Allen of Florence; her special grandson, Blaine Allen White of Florence; her maternal grandparents, Colon L. “Son” and Odessa Kelly Blackmon of Florence; a half-brother, Will Allen of Myrtle Beach and two half-sisters, Jacqueline Allen of Myrtle Beach and Jerri Allen of Florence and many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins and her canine companion, Cookie. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2015, in the Chapel of The Florence Baptist Temple. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the church.A private burial will be held at a later date. Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home is assisting the family.
