Janet Lee Morgan

Janet Lee Morgan passed away peacefully in her home on May 23rd, 2025.

She is survived by her 3 children Joshua Kern, Will Colburn and Vanessa Colburn along with her 6 grandchildren Taylor Kern, Jada Brockington, Miya Brockington, Casey Kern, Noah Kern and Toboe Colburn. Her two loving sisters, Linda (Michael) Hayes and Denise (Butch) McGee; lifelong friend and parenting partner Bill Colburn; and daughters in love Merideth Cimmino and Katie Brauss.

Janet was a loving, devoted mother and grandmother. Balancing motherhood and schooling to provide for her family. She was celebrated as a loyal friend, a mentor, and an ear to listen and understand. She honored life in all forms showing undying care for her family, friends, pets and even her plants.

Janet proudly celebrated 29 years of sobriety this year. Which she dedicated her life to. Not only her own, but that and the wellbeing anyone in need. She served the community of Florence through Bruce Hall, Starting Point and Alcoholics Anonymous over the last 29 years and touched countless lives.

If you knew her, you know how indebted we all are to her for what she contributed to our lives and the town of Florence. Servitude to her family, friends, colleagues, sponsors and sponsee's was her passion. She left no one behind or ever gave up on a soul that crossed her path.

Janet did her part to make the world a better place, one person at a time. She was God’s gift to us all, and will be greatly missed.
