James Tyler Young, 18, of Timmonsville, passed away in a motorcycle accident on Friday, February 19, 2016. Tyler was born in New Brunswick, NJ and is the first born son of James George Young and Suzanne Nordman Young of Hunterdon County, NJ.Tyler attended high school at Hunterdon Central Regional in Flemington, NJ; Camden Military Academy in Camden, SC and Maranatha Christian School in Florence, SC.He was an active part of the skate club, wrestling teams and weight training. Tyler had many interests and hobbies, but was most passionate about skateboarding, hockey, BMX biking, go karting, motocross, surfing and skim boarding. A lover of the outdoors, Tyler was also involved with IDPA competitive pistol shooting with his father, hunting and hiking.Besides activities that afforded Tyler the opportunity to be active, in motion and headed for adventure he also enjoyed tinkering, mechanics, drawing and designing future cars.Making people smile was Tyler’s true intent in everything he did. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving sister Rachael Helen Young and brother James Reese Young, both from Hunterdon County NJ.His grandparents Rudolf Ernst Nordman and Patricia Ann Nordman of Mt Olive, NJ.Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and second cousins and close family friends.He was preceded in death by his cherished Nana, Helen Brooks Young of Somerville, NJ. A memorial service will be held at First Free Will Baptist Church on West Palmetto Street, Florence SC on Sunday, February 28, 2016 beginning at 2pm.There will also be services held in New Jersey at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to House of Hope of the Pee Dee, Florence SC, an organization assisting the homeless locally, a cause that Tyler cared about deeply.Donations can be made at www.hofh.org The family is being assisted by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
