James Segars

James "Randy" Randolph Segars Florence, South Carolina James "Randy" Randolph Segars, 65, of Florence, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 in a local health care facility after an extended illness. Mr. Segars was born in Florence, a son of the late James Burrell and Naomi White Segars.He graduated from St. John's High School and attended Clemson University. Mr. Segars was a Veteran of the US Marine Corps having served during the Vietnam War.He worked as the finance manager from both Cale Yarborough Honda and Palmetto Nissan.Mr. Segars went on to retire from outside sales for Sunbelt Rental Equipment until his illness.He was a member of the Hampton Masonic Lodge, Omar Shrine, All Saints Episcopal Church, Marine Corps League, and was a board member for Palmetto First Credit Union. He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by a sister, Margaret Boseman Severance; a brother, Thomas Buddy Boseman; and a brother-in-law, Ray Severance. Surviving are his loving wife of 34 years, Marie Graves Segars, a son, Joshua Segars of Florence; two daughters, Gretchen Segars of Boston, MA and Erin Segars (Cameron) Faile of Florence; a brother, Steven R. (Maria) Segars of Birmingham, AL; a sister Janemaree Baker of Wilson, NC; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 7, 2012 in All Saints Episcopal Church.Burial will follow in the Florence National Cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
