James Roger Hutchinson Florence, SC James Roger Hutchinson, 79, died Friday, December 31, 2010 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2011 at the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Military Rites provided by the Fort Jackson Honors Detail and Masonic Rites by Mecca Lodge #407 AFM. Mr. Hutchinson was born in Florence County, SC a son of the late Jake and Colee Poston Hutchinson. He was a Corporal, U.S. Army ret. having been wounded in the Korean War. He was awarded many citations, including the Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion Post #1 and a Life member of D.A.V. He was a member of the Mecca Lodge #407 A.F.M., the Omar Shrine, and a Life member and past Director of the Omar Imps. He was a faithful member of Quinby Baptist Church and the Fisherman Sunday School Class. He was employed as a Service Manager at Horne Ford and Bobby Gerald Ford dealerships. He retired from Friendly Ford in Darlington in 1993 after 36 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Michael Hutchinson and a great-granddaughter, Makenzie Brown. Surviving are his loving wife of27 years, Betty Doris Jenkins Hutchinson; children, Retired CPO U.S.Navy Edward (Maria) Hutchinson of Florence, Jackie (Terrill) McKissick of Myrtle Beach, Martin Hutchinson of Effingham, Baron (Mary Beth) Tedder of Atlanta, William Tedder of Marion and Deborah Warr and her husband, MSgt USMC Retired Robert Warr of Clermont, Florida; 2 brothers, John Henry (Jeanette) Hutchinson of Florence and Donnie (Carol) Hutchinsonof Effingham; 6 sisters, Mazie (Robert) Stevens of Hyman, Louise (Ralph) McBride of Santee, Jean (Clifford) Hanna of Charleston, Thelma (David) Kennedy and Gail (Joe) Kelly both of Effingham and Joyce Lee of Florence; 10 grandchildren, Amy Best, Ryan Hutchinson, Kenneth Perez, Marty Hutchinson, Whitney Hayes, B.J. Tedder, Ssgt Cecil Warr, CW2 Shannon Warr, Danil Warr and Krysi Gerwe and 16 great-grandchildren.
