James Michael "Mike" Richardson

James Michael “Mike” Richardson, Sr., 68, of Pamplico, SC passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017. Mr. Richardson was born in Florence, SC a son of Elizabeth Sewell Richardson and the late Robert Boyce Richardson.He was a graduate of Southside High School and had attended Spartanburg Methodist College.Mike was a US Air Force veteran, a member of Evergreen Baptist Church and was co-owner of his family’s saw mill, Richardson Lumber Company.He was an avid sports enthusiast, loved gardening, and enjoyed having fun with his family. He was preceded in death by his father and by his brother, Rusty Richardson. Surviving are his wife, Robin Benton Richardson of Pamplico; sons, James Michael (Lori) Richardson, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC and John Manning (Kalista) Richardson of Clayton, NC; daughter, Michelle Richardson (Jason) Dore of Florence; grandchildren, Loriann Richardson, Lucas Stroud, Peyton Dore, William Richardson, Brody Richardson and Coleman Richardson; mother, Lib Richardson of Effingham; brother, Robert Boyce (Nancy) Richardson, Jr. of Effingham and many loved nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Florence Area Humane Society, P. O. Box 4808, Florence, SC29502 or to Evergreen Baptist Church, 6316 Pamplico Highway, Effingham, SC29541. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 PM Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Evergreen Baptist Church with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 in the church sanctuary.
