JAMES HARRY PEACOCK FLORENCE, SC JAMES HARRY PEACOCK, 85, of Florence went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at the McLeod Hospice House. Mr. Peacock was born in Del Rio Va Verde, Texas a son of the late Joseph Willis Peacock and Lois Jewel Shipman Peacock.He was a veteran of the US Army and earned his Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University.He was CEO of Eaton Corp Hydraulics Division and President of Perfection Hytest.He was a member of numerous civic clubs and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.Mr. Peacock was an avid golfer, world traveler with business and loved the Lord and his family. Surviving are his loving wife, Virginia Allen Peacock of Florence; sons, James H. Peacock, Jr. of Portland, OR and Josh Peacock of Grand Rapids, Michigan; daughters, Nicole P. (John) Metzger of Marshall, Michigan and Ellen P. Thimming of Battlecreek, Michigan; step-son, Steve (Terri) Permenter of Chesnee, SC; step-daughters, Cathy P. (Greg) Buffkin of Florence, Robin D. Permenter of Charleston, SC and Amy P. (Robert) Keefe of Pamplico; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 915 Cherokee Road, Florence, SC29501 or to McLeod Hospice House, PO Box 100551, Florence, SC29502. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 25, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church.Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 AM Friday prior to the service at the church and other times at the residence.
