James Richard Paulus

James Richard “Rick” Paulus, 67, of Darlington, SC passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017. Rick was born in Sumter County, SC a son of Thelma Hill Paulus and the late James Paulus. He loved music and played trumpet for the Footnotes and in several other bands throughout the years. Rick was well known throughout the community for his passion for music. Rick was a Christian man who loved his family and friends, mentored many, and never met a stranger. He also served his country in the Navy and had fought two tours in Vietnam. Survivors include a son, James Brandon Paulus (Kayla) of Forreston, TX; a daughter, Hilary Paulus of Florence, SC; a sister, Sandy Paulus of Forrest City, NC; and a granddaughter, Aria Beth Paulus.
