James W. McIntyre, 92, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2014, at a local healthcare facility. Mr. McIntyre was born in West Virginia, a son of the late Forrest Loren McIntyre and Bertha Thompson McIntyre.He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corp, having served in World War II.Mr. McIntyre was a member of Florence Baptist Temple for twenty-six years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Radcliffe McIntyre, and his son, Robert Wayne McIntyre. Surviving are his sisters, Patty Morris and Ruby Burton; his granddaughter, Anjulie (Brian) M. Hashey; his great-grandchildren, Nicholas Thompson, Ariana McIntyre-Oneil, Giovanni Guli, Jessica McIntyre and Samantha McIntyre; his niece, Carol Sue Morris;his sister-in-law, Norma McIntyre, and special friends, Jim and Cathy Keefe, Lee and Tony Keefe, Gafton Keefe, Dwayne Keefe, Valerie Keefe and Austin Keefe. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow at Florence National Cemetery.
