James “Jimmy” Walker Bennett, 72, of Florence, SC, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2025.
He is the son of the late Frank W. Bennett and Wilma Smith Bennett.
Jimmy was a graduate of Southside High School. He spent many years as a long-distance truck driver and retired from FedEx Freight. A faithful member of Peace Free Will Baptist Church, Jimmy sang in the choir and often shared his voice through special solos. He had a deep love for gospel music and the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Above all, he cherished time spent playing with and loving his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Dalton Munn.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Nataline Munn Bennett; sons, Caleb Brent (Kaycee) Bennett, Jason Walker Bennett, and Walker Andrew Munn; grandchildren, Lane, Grooms, Kayden, Lily Jane, Lillie Cooper, and Marley James; brothers, Jerry (Barbara) Bennett and Ed (Donna) Bennett; and sister, Joyce Hewitt.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 28, 2026 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Peace Free Will Baptist Church.
The burial will follow at McLaughlin Cemetery in Effingham, SC.
