James Thomas Hodges

James Thomas Hodges, 91, died while living at the Methodist Manor in Florence, SC on Saturday, December 10, 2016. Mr. Hodges was born in Portland, Tennessee on January 30, 1925, to Annie Arduth Ashlock and Tommie Perkins Hodges.He was a graduate of Vanderbuilt University and retired from DuPont in 1981.Mr. Hodges was a veteran of World War II and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Florence, SC. Surviving are his wife of seventy years, Sarah Puckett Hodges; daughter, Carol Conway and her husband Thomas; grandchildren, Crista Parsons, Sarah Smart and her husband, Shawn, of Pickerington, OH and Allen Conway and his wife, Gisselle of Daytona Beach, FL; great-grandchildren, Isabella Conway, Juliana Conway and Gabriella Conway, Liam Smart and Finnegan Smart. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by his sister and four brothers. The family is being assisted by Stoudenmmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Services will be private.
