James David Hendrick, Jr.

James David Hendrick, Jr., 56, of Florence, SC, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

James was born in Florence, the son of Donna Anne Calcutt Hendrick and the late James David Hendrick, Sr.

He loved fishing and often dreamed of opening his own bait shop one day, as well as gardening and taking care of his yard. He was a hard worker, liked to play cards with his buddies, and giving people a hard time.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a sister, Donette Hendrick Shaw; and grandparents, Carl (Anne) Poston, and Donnie Calcutt.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his spouse, Cynthia Ann Hendrick; a son, James D. Hendrick III; a daughter, Karrington (Andrew) Hendrick; grandson, Lucian Seigler; uncle, Carl L. Poston; aunt, Debbie Poston; special aunt, Janet Lynn Poston; special friend, Barry Teel; mother-in-law, Judy L. Chavis; father-in-law, Earnest B. Chavis; sister-in-law, Billie H.(Allen) Mitchell; and nephew, Chase R. Mitchell.

The family will receive friends 12:00 – 1:00 PM Saturday, April 4, 2026, with the service to follow at 1:00 PM at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.

Entombment will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Tans Bay Baptist Church, 3919 S Irby St, Florence, SC 29505.
