JAMES CRAIG BYRD FLORENCE, SC JAMES CRAIG BYRD, 53, of Florence, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Byrd was born in Winston-Salem, NC, a son of Edith Gatton Girard and the late James L. Byrd.He retired from Nucor Steel and loved restoring his Mustang. He was preceded in death by his father and by a brother, Mark Anthony Byrd. Surviving are his mother of Timmonsville; children, Jesse Lee Byrd, Priscilla Leigh Byrd and Alma Mercedes Byrd; a brother, Michael (Terri) Byrd of McBee; a sister, Tracy (Wade) Jackson of Whispering Pines, NC; several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Alma Lucas of Florence. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel.Entombment will follow directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
