Jack Raymond Rose, Sr.

JACK RAYMOND ROSE, SR. FLORENCE, S.C. JACK RAYMOND ROSE, SR, 87, of Florence, passed away Friday, November 16, 2012 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Mr. Rose was born in Florence County, a son of the late Robert Wilson and Thelma Davis Rose. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church. After working 50 years in the automotive parts business, he retired from Central Oil & Supply. He enjoyed working in the yard, gardening, fishing and being in the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Jack R. Rose, Jr., who died January 31, 2005;one brother, Robert Wilson Rose, Jr.; two sisters, Jean Moss and Doris Whitley. Surviving are his wife, Geretha McKissick Rose, with whom he would have celebrated 64 years of marriage on December 24; daughter-in-law, Pat Shelley Rose of Florence; granddaughters, Dana (Michael) Lewis of Anderson and Shelley (Randy) Wells of Anderson; great-grandchildren, Jack Wells, Dustin Lewis, Caroline Rose Lewis and Chandler Lewis; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2012 in Grace Baptist Church, with burial following in Florence Memorial Gardens, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
