Ina Brown Garrison

*January 8, 1933 – August 4, 2026*

Ina Brown Garrison, a cherished mother, devoted friend, and longstanding member of the Florence community, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at the age of 93. Born in Marion, South Carolina, Ina graced the world with her presence on a Sunday, January 8, 1933.

A resident of Florence, SC, Ina spent her life dedicated to her family and her work as an Accounts Payable Clerk. She retired from Carolina Power and Light Company, where she has left behind many cherished memories and friendships. Ina was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, where she participated actively in church activities and was also a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Ina was preceded in death by her father, John Henry Brown, her mother, Hanna Philip Brown, her beloved husband, John C. Garrison, and her son, John C. Garrison, Jr. Her legacy continues to live through her daughter, Kay Johnson and two sisters; Helen Carberry, and Henrietta Cox; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services to honor and celebrate Ina's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Rev. David Wike will officiate the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday evening at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home, 2402 South Irby Street, Florence, SC 29505. Entombment will follow the service in the Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ebenezer Baptist Church, located at 524 S. Ebenezer Road, Florence, SC 29501, to support and continue the church's good works, which Ina held close to her heart.
