ILA ZULINE ALSBROOKS-THOMAS Florence, SC Ila Zuline Alsbrooks-Thomas, 83, of Florence, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2016 after a long illness. She was born on January 30, 1933 a daughter of the late Jacob Alsbrooks of Greeleyville, SC and Lattie Williams Alsbrooks of Effingham.She was a hostess/greeter at the Thunderbird Restaurant in Florence for 35 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lydia Thomas Kinard of Greeleyville; great-grandchildren, Devin Richburg, Patrick Preece and Austin Ashley; brother, Eddie Alsbrooks of Greeleyville and sister, Alvenna King of Florence. Surviving are her children, Donna Thomas Ashley of Effingham, Yvonne Thomas McKenzie of Florence, J.R. Thomas and Shug Thomas; grandchildren, Denise Sanders, Bridget Wise, Thomas “Boo” Kinard, William “Bill” Ashley, Tracy Randall Preece, Wayne McKenzie, Trent McKenzie and Samantha McKenzie Brantley; great-grandchildren, Brandice Howard, Heather Baynard, Kayla Powell, William Wise, Jr., Cassidy Randall Welch, April Randall, Baylea Ashley, Allen Colt McKenzie, John Wayne McKenzie, Sarah Hayden McKenzie, Carolina McKenzie, Brooks McKenzie, Molly Brantley and Jordan Brantley; 11 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Jeannette Matthews and Naomi Pugh, both of Timmonsville, Betty Richburg of Casey, EleaseRichburg of West Columbia and Hazel McGregor of Pinehurst, NC; special friends, Erin Roberts, Ethan Hubbard, Austin Filyaw, Mykenna McDaniel, Chance McDaniel, Junior Graham, Sabrina Wallace and Amy Holt. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 8, 2016 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Entombment will follow in the Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
