Hubert L. Scott

Hubert L. Scott, 97, of Florence, SC, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2014. Mr. Scott was born in Lake View, SC, and was the son of the late Ellis Scott and Willie Williamson Scott.He was a police officer with the Florence Police Department for twenty-five years and retired in 1962.Mr. Scott was a member of the Hampton Masonic Lodge AFM #204 and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Scott is preceded in death by his wife, Edna E. Blanton Scott who died in 2003; his brothers W. E. Scott, Olin Scott and B. Lanneau Scott and his sisters, Kathleen S. Watt and Bernice S. Smith. Surviving are his brother Ryan L. Scott of Columbia; his sisters, Liloise S. West of Moncks Corner and Jeanette S. Empey of Allen, TX; a sister-in-law, Nancy N. Scott of Columbia and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at St. Paul United Methodist Church.Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made in the name of Hubert L.
