HUBERT McFARLAN GAINEY Hartsville, SC Hubert McFarlan Gainey, 68, of Hartsville, SC passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017. Mr. Gainey was born in Florence, SC a son of the late Robert Lee Gainey and Julia Amanda Munn Gainey.He retired from Nucor Steel after 34 years and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.He had the open heart policy; anyone was welcome into his life. He was preceded in death by his parents; nine brothers and five sisters. Surviving are his wife, Kathy Haynes Gainey of Hartsville; sons, Michael Lee (Virginia) Gainey of Hartsville and Tommy (Donna) Gainey of Darlington; grandchildren, John Michael Gainey, Alexander Gainey, Jr., Kenneth Gainey and Kaitlyn Gainey; special sister-in-law, Betty Haynes and special friends, Buck and Teresa Sanders. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA23060-9979. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Monday, February 27, 2017 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the funeral home chapel.Burial will follow in the Bethel Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery on National Cemetery Road.
