Herman Willard Porter

Herman Willard Porter, 72, of Florence, SC, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016. Mr. Porter was born in Horry County, SC, a son of the late Naomi Stevens Porter and Burris Hubert Porter.He was a member of Quinby Baptist Church.He owned and operated a woodcutting business.He loved fishing and antique cars, especially 55 Chevys.Mr. Porter was a loving father and grandfather. Surviving are his sons, Darryl Porter of Darlington and Wesley Porter and Jason Porter, both of Florence; grandchildren, Rion Porter and Angel Porter; brothers, Horace Porter of Lancaster, SC, Joseph Porter of Monroe, NC and Roger Porter, of Myrtle Beach, SC; and sisters, Daphne Heffler and Latrell Fowler, both of Florence.The family loved him and will miss him very much, especially his sense of humor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Allen Porter. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Florence Baptist Temple directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
