Henrietta Griffin Meggs

Henrietta Griffin Meggs, 78, of Florence, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019. Mrs. Meggs was born a daughter of the late Mary Magdalene Ham Griffin and William Sidney Griffin.She was a faithful member of Florence Baptist Temple. Mrs. Meggs loved to make cakes for people, gardening and cooking. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Albert “Buddy” Meggs; sisters, Annie Ree Hatchell, Hazel Brown and Susie Morganti; and brothers, Wade Griffin and William Griffin. Mrs. Meggs is survived by her children, Brenda (Butch) Driggers, Darlene (Jim) Walters, andTimothy James Meggs, all of Florence; grandson, Griffin Walters, andsisters, Mary Lee Anderson, Pawnee Kenimer and Diane Bramlett, all of Florence and June Powalski of Baton Rouge, LA. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 7, 2019, at Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel.Entombment will follow the service directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery and other times at the residence.
