Helen Ruth Hunt Duprey

Helen Ruth Hunt Duprey, 74, of Florence, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017. Mrs. Duprey was born in Robeson County, NC, a daughter of the late Worth Hunt and Rosie Brewer Hunt.She was a veteran of the US Marines.Mrs. Duprey retired from Pee Dee Mental Health as a procurement supervisor.She was a very strong woman and very devoted mother and grandmother. Mrs. Duprey is survived by her daughters, Kathy Duprey and Connie Duprey, both of Florence; son, John Duprey (Nancy) of Connecticut; honorary daughter, Crystal Lisbon; grandchildren, Stoney Duprey (Whitney), Alexandria Truszka, Brandon Dixon, Tyler Dixon (Sasha), Ashley Duprey, Nakoa Dixon, Ashton Dixon, Rebecca Duprey, and Tatyana Squire, Courtney Squire, Brittney Planter (Marcus), Bridgette McKay and Joshua Squire; honorary grandchildren, Ricky Lisbon and Detria Lisbon; great-grandchildren, Matthew Truszka, Autumn Truszka and Journey Duprey; brothers, Bobby Hunt (Livian), Kenny Hunt (Tina) and Reggie Brewer, all of North Carolina; sisters, Alice Locklear (John) of Hamer, SC, Connie Myer and Teresa Jarrett (David), both of North Carolina; sister-in-law, Yvonne Duprey of South Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17, 2017, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Florence National Cemetery.
