Helen Glenn Lewis, 83, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017. Mrs. Lewis was born a daughter of the late Otto T. Glenn and Thelma Jo Rogers Glenn. She was a retired bookkeeper from Carolina Barber and Supply Company.She enjoyed cooking and sewing and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Mrs. Lewis was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was a dedicated and active member until her health failed. She was committed to serving the Lord, her family and her church.She was a people person and loved to assist anyone in need. Mrs. Lewis is survived by her daughter, Debbie L. DeWitt (Wink) of Florence; son-in-law, Leslie B. Bennett (Harlana); grandchildren, Amanda B. Simpson (Henry), Bryan L. Bennett (Brittany), Megan Leigh DeWitt and Erin Miller (Bryan); great grandchildren, K. C. Todd and Kaden Todd; brother, Ronald E. Glenn of Greenville, SC; and sisters, Charlene Pipal of Delaware and Jeanette Glenn Hill of Ravenel, SC. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, George Clinton Lewis, Jr.; daughter, Vetra L. Bennett; brothers, Truman O. Glenn and Gene Glenn; and her sister, Corene Glenn Lewis. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Calvary Baptist Church.Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery directed Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the Collins Family Center of Calvary Baptist Church.
