Heide E. Jackson Florence, SC Heide Else Balz Jackson, 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday Morning, February, 4, 2013 in a Florence hospital after an illness. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Church at Sandhurst. The family will receive friends from 6:30–8:30 p.m. Friday evening at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home and also at the Church at Sandhurst following the service. Mrs. Jackson was born in Ansbach, Bavaria in Germany, the seventh of eight children of the late Karl Ruprecht and Anna Hofmann Balz. She was a veteran of the German Army during WWII, where she was wounded by an American Pilot. She became an American citizen in 1981, which is one of her proudest moments. She retired from Reliable Sales Company of Florence after 35 years of service. She later went on to work with the Palmetto Center for Drugs and Alcohol Rehabilitation in Florence for 19 years. She was faithful to her Lord and Savior by attending the Church at Sandhurst. Surviving are her 2 daughters, Delight (Dr. Randy) Kixmiller of Charlotte, NC and Susan (Marc) Emerson of Florence; grandchildren, Sheagen (Chris) Tyner of Florence, Scott (Karen) Kixmiller of Greensboro, NC., Jonathan Kixmiller of Winston-Salem, NC, and Heidi Beth Kixmiller of Asheville, NC; a number of nieces and nephews in Germany and a number of special friends, especially at the Huddle House.
