Hazel Griffin Brown

Hazel Griffin Brown, 77, of Florence, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2015. Ms. Brown was born in Pulaski, GA, a daughter of the late William Sidney Griffin and Magdalene Ham Griffin.She was the former owner of Hazel’s Country Kitchen in Florence. Surviving are her daughter, Debbie (George) Dodge of Florence; son, Charles Leslie Poole; grandchildren, G. Cameron Dodge and Karley N. Dodge, both of Florence, Tyler Poole of Hartsville, and Rivers Poole of Boone, NC; her sisters, Mary Lee (John) Anderson, Henrietta (Buddy) Meggs, Pawnee G. Kenimer, all of Florence, June (Joseph) Griffin Powalski of Baton Rouge, LA, and Dianne M. Bramlett of Florence; and sister-in-law, Doris P. Griffin of Sumter. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Annie Ree Hatchell; her brothers, William B. Griffin and Wade H. Griffin; and brothers-in-law, Charles “Chuck” Bramlett and James C. Hatchell. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2015, at South Florence Baptist Church.Entombment will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home, P. O.
