Florence

Harvey Lamar Younginer, 86, of Florence, SC, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at McLeod Hospice House after a short battle with cancer.

Harvey was the son of the late E.B. and Myrtle Younginer. He graduated from McClenaghan High School and attended Clemson University before returning home to marry his high school sweetheart, Dianne Cusack. They shared 65 years of marriage.

He began his career at Electro Motive and later joined Lion Chemical Company before entering the beauty supply industry, where he eventually founded his own company, Palmetto Beauty Supply. He was a longtime member of the Church at Sandhurst, which he served faithfully.

Harvey helped people quietly. He looked for needs others overlooked and met them without announcement, rarely mentioning his kindness to anyone, most who knew him only learned of it later, and often not from him. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, and he gave his family his very best.

He was a devoted Clemson Tiger all his life. Fall Saturdays belonged to his team, cheering on his team. Go Tigers.

Harvey is survived by his wife, Dianne; his sons, Chad Younginer and Lamar Younginer (Debby); his brother, Larry Younginer (Jayne); his grandchildren, Steven (Heather), Sydney, and Sophie; and his great-grandson, Beauman.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 on Sunday, September 6, 2026 prior to the memorial service in the fellowship hall at the Church of Sandhurst.

A celebration of life memorial service will be at 3:00 PM in the sanctuary of the Church of Sandhurst.
