Harvey "Wayne" Jones

Harvey “Wayne” Jones, 72, of Florence, SC, passed away July 28, 2025.

He was the son of the late Harvey Jones and Mary Matthews Jones.

Wayne held various positions throughout his career, including roles at Superior Mobile Movers, Florence County EMS as a paramedic, Cayce Company, Terminix, and Orkin. He also worked as a mechanic and welder. Additionally, he served as a chaplain in the Army National Guard. A dedicated member of Florence Baptist Temple since 1972, Wayne was also part of the first graduating class of Florence Christian School.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Harry Jones, Shirley Yarborough, Judy Connell, and Henry Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Jones, sons; Charlie (Erin) Nealey and Ashley (Lisa) Jones; grandchildren, Jordan (Paxton), Ashton, Maddy, and Daniel; and brother, Tom (Rosalee) Jones.

The family will receive friends and family Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Florence Baptist Temple from 2:00 – 3:00 PM with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM.
