Harry William "Buck" Horst, Jr.

Harry William “Buck” Horst, Jr., 76, of Quinby, SC passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2026.

Buck was born in McKeesport, PA, the son of the late Marlyn Elizabeth Trochesset Horst and Harry William Horst. He was faithful member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was an auto body repairman and later worked in maintenance at Bay Pines Florida VA Hospital for fifteen years. He was a NASCAR fan and loved his cat, Princess.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, William Horst.

Surviving is his wife, Elisa Horst; son, Marcello Pereira (Stacie); a daughter, Amber Crawford (Benjamin); seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren; and special sister, Sandy (Brad).

The family thanks the staff of VIA Health Partner of Florence for their excellent hospice care and kindness, especially Carol Ann, Opal, Greta, and Maria.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 12, 2026, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. A rosary will be held at 5:00 PM on Sunday, October 11, 2026, with the visitation to follow until 7:00 PM at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
