Harold Wayne Reynolds, 72, of Effingham, was surrounded by his family when he went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 23, 2018. Harold was born a son of the late “R.J.” Rupert Reynolds, Sr. and Hazel Jenkins Reynolds.He began his career with Southern Bell Telephone and was service manager with Lucent Technologies when he retired. Harold was a valued member of the staff at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home for a number of years.He was a member of Elim Baptist Church, was a Gideon and had served in the U. S. Navy.Harold was passionate about disaster relief missions through the Baptist Association. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda Sawyer Reynolds; sons, Harold “Chip” Reynolds, Jr. of Atlanta and Brad Reynolds (Cindy) of Cades; grandchildren, Logan Turner of Pamplico and Austin Jay Reynolds of Cades; brothers, Rupert Reynolds, Jr. (Jan) of Seattle, Washington, Ronnie Reynolds (Terry) of Effingham and Greg Reynolds (Suzette) of Timmonsville; sisters, Millie Martin of Effingham and Phyllis Langston (Ray) of Manning; and a special aunt, Lois Morrow of Effingham. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Marjorie Reynolds. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Elim Baptist Church.Burial will follow in Elim Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
