Hannah Bethea Munn, 99, died Friday, March 18, 2016 at the McLeod Hospice House. She was born October 19, 1916 in Mullins, SC, a daughter of the late John P. and Ethel Bethea Cooper. Mrs. Munn graduated from Columbia College in 1937 with a double major in English and piano. She taught in the SC public schools for many years, and was one of the state’s first elementary school Guidance Counselors. She volunteered to serve in England in 1943 with the Red Cross during WWII. She was a loyal member of Pamplico United Methodist Church, having served as organist, president of the Woman’s Society of Christian Service, and teacher. She was a charter member of the Thomas Finkley Chapter of the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century. Survivors include her son, Frank McLeod (Cynthia B.) Munn, Jr. of Pamplico; two grandsons, Frank McLeod “Chip” Munn, III and Johnathan G. Munn; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and a sister. A graveside funeral service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Woodside Cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home of Florence.
