Grady Mcneill

Grady McNeill, of Florence, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at a local hospital after a long illness. Mr. McNeill was born in Florence, a son of the late Irvin M. McNeill and Lola Bell Knotts McNeill.He was a member of Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church and retired from Sumter Utilities where he was a foreman.Mr. McNeill was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman.He loved to farm and loved to be with his family and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ann Roger McNeill who died in 1997. Surviving are sons, Pete (Pat) McNeill of West Columbia and Grady “Marty” McNeill of Florence; his daughter, Wanda McNeill (Eddie) Childers of Sumter; his grandchildren, Kimberly, Crystal, David and Meagan; eight great-grandchildren; his sister, Doris Riley of Arkansas and best friend, Richard and Virginia Coleman. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 on Friday, March 28, 2014 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow at Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a heart or lung foundation of your choice.
