Grace Louise Harrell Brown Florence, South Carolina Grace Louise Harrell Brown, 90, of Florence, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2012 in a local health care facility after an illness. Born in Florence, SC and a graduate of Tans Bay High School, Mrs. Brown was the daughter of the late George Mathew and Ella Julia Lewis Harrell.A member of Central United Methodist Church for 50 years, she was an active member of the Joy Seniors group.She was married to her husband at the church in 1945 and then rejoined in 1962 after returning to Florence. As a loving mother and wife of a military officer, she made every place her family moved seem like home. She was dearly loved by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her loving husband, Lt. Col. Robert Owen Brown, Sr. US Air Force Ret.; a brother, George Harrell; and a sister, Annie J. Gainey. Surviving are a daughter, Bobbie Sharon (Bill) Stricklin of Florence; son, Robert Owen (Liz) Brown, Jr., of Orangeburg; nine grandchildren, Susan (Ed) Dixon, William M. Stricklin, Jr., Robert McCaskill Stricklin, Grace (Mitchell) Page,Sandra A. (Rob) Simmons, Robert Owen (Jill) Brown, III, Adam (April) Potts, Sarah (Justin) Metts, Andrew (Lisa) Potts; fifteen great-grandchildren, William, Thomas, & Lila Grace Dixon, Tyler & John Adam Stricklin, Whitney Stricklin, Meadors & Danny Page, Jake & Ashton Simmons, Kaitlyn & Parker Brown, Ryleigh Metts, Eli Potts, and Cora Potts.Also surviving is her lifelong friend Pauline Morris (Aunt Polly). Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 20, 2012 at Central United Methodist Church.Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
