Grace Tilton Creel

Grace Tilton Creel, 96, of Florence, SC, passed away on Monday, April 26, 2021. Mrs. Creel was born a daughter of the late Letha Idell Sauls Tilton and Clarence Olin Tilton.She was the owner and operator of Federal Finance Company.Mrs. Creel was a member of Florence Baptist Temple. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Europe Jiles “E.J.” Creel; sisters, Mary Evelyn Hurst, Esther G. Steen, Thelma Coward and Ruth Bailey; and brothers, Charles E. Tilton and Herbert D. Tilton. She is survived by her sons, Olin Kevin Creel of Lake City, SC, Davis Brian Creel (Linda) of Piedmont, SC, and Michael “Mike” Loren Creel (Rita) of Florence; daughters, Tonia Jean Bailey (E.C.) and Marcia Lyles, both of Florence; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 30, 2021, at Florence Baptist Temple.Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM on Friday at the Church. Memorials may be made to Florence Baptist Temple, 2308 South Irby Street, Florence, SC 29505.
