GILDA McRAE SANDERS FLORENCE, SC GILDA McRAE SANDERS, 58, of Florence, passed away May 2, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Sanders was born in Marion, SC a daughter of Annette Martin McRae and the late Richard Carroll McRae.She was a graduate of Marion High School and Florence-Darlington Technical College.She was highly proficient in shorthand.She had been employed as a lab assistant in the Secretarial Science Department of Florence-Darlington Tech for several years after graduation and taught typing in the Evening Division.She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for the toddlers.She had also served as a board member for 10 years for the Florence Youth Girls Softball Association and coached for many years. Surviving are her husband of 37 years, R. Wilson Sanders, Jr. of Florence; sons, Robert Carroll Sanders of Charleston, SC and Benjamin Mark (LaDonna) Sanders of Timmonsville; daughter, Jennifer Sanders (Ty) Dixon of Florence; mother, Annette Martin McRae of Marion; brother, Rick McRae of Fort Mill; sister, Teresa McCormick of Mullins; grandchildren, Noah McKeag Sanders, Benjamin Matthew Sanders, Ella Craig Dixon, Zachary Micale and Adam Hendrix; aunts, uncles, many nieces, nephews and cousins and her close friends, Janice Sumter, Lauralu Walker, Bud and Carol Hickey, Larry and Pat Hughes and Jim and Rhonda Spencer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1021 S. Ebenezer Road, Florence, SC29501 or to McLeod Hospice, PO Box 100551, Florence, SC29502. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Trinity Presbyterian Church.Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
