GERTRUDE A. THOMPSON MYRTLE BEACH, SC GERTRUDE A. THOMPSON, 92, of Myrtle Beach, SC passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012 at a Myrtle Beach health care facility after an illness. Mrs. Thompson was born in Arkansas City, Kansas a daughter of the late John Wesley Stacy and Susie Marie Byers Stacy.She was a Red Cross Volunteer and a member of the NCO Wives Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Anton J. Thompson, Jr. who passed away on October 8, 2011 and by her brothers, Forrest Stacy, Max Stacy, John Stacy, Jr. and Donald Stacy. Surviving are her son, Stacy John Thompson of Myrtle Beach; daughters, Teri Bell of Anchorage, Alaska and Barbara Culton of Cranston, Rhode Island; sisters, Marjorie Treadway of Kaw City, OK and Sue Kelley of Bella Vista, AL; grandchildren, John Thompson, Joy Thompson Chambers, Scott Bell, William Culton, Jr. and Nancy Culton Groeger. Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, 1601A West Lucas, Florence, SC29501. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Kansas.
