GEORGIA McLAUGHLIN SMITH EFFINGHAM, SC Georgia McLaughlin Smith, 69, of Effingham, SC passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015, at her residence after an illness. She was born in Florence County, SC a daughter of the late Ham McLaughlin, Sr. and Pauline Mixon McLaughlin.She was a member of Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church and devoted Prayer Warrior. She was a nursing assistant and homemaker.She loved whole heartedly and cherished her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loyal husband of 46 years, Lloyd Smith, who passed away on April 24, 2013 and two sisters, Frassie Lee and Mary Johnson. Surviving are her only daughter, Daisy S. (Furman) Allen of Effingham; grandchildren, Spencer (Lauren) Allen of Coward and Candice Allen of Effingham; great-grandchild, Levi Evans; brothers Ham McLaughlin, Jr and Reuben McLaughlin; a number of nieces and nephews, including two nieces she loved dearly, Francine (Anthony) Floyd and Paula (Doug) Floyd and her special friend, Marilyn Hanna. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 pm Tuesday at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home and other times at the residence of Spencer and Lauren Allen, 2240 N. Old Georgetown Road, Coward, SC. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church.Burial will follow in Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery.
