George (Jeries) Ibrahim Salim Rishmawi

George (Jeries) Ibrahim Salim Rishmawi, 81, of Beit-Sahour, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026, in Florence, SC.

Born in Beit-Sahour, Palestine, to the late Ibrahim Rishmawi and Hannah Rishmawi, Mr. George Rishmawi was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather to four grandchildren whom he loved dearly. He loved to draw, dance, play card games, and help people. He attended the Forefathers Orthodox Church in Beit-Sahour for many years and later started attending the Transfiguration of our Savior Greek Orthodox Church. He dedicated many years to simultaneously working as a teacher in the mornings, then at a textile factory in the afternoons, and finally finishing his days at a plastic factory in the evening.

Abu Saher especially adored his beloved olive trees. He found great peace tending to them with the same patience and love he gave to his family. The trees remain a cherished connection to his heritage and a reflection of his nurturing spirit.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Odeh Rishmawi and Basem Rishmawi, and sisters, Suad Rishmawi and Evette Rishmawi.

Surviving is his beloved wife of 54 years, Ayda Elias Rishmawi; his son, Saher, and his wife, Riham Rishmawi; his grandchildren, George, Alexander, Christopher, and Lareen Rishmawi; along with his brothers, Salim and Bassam Rishmawi.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Transfiguration of our Savior Greek Orthodox Church. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 18, 2026, in the church. Burial will be at the Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery and followed by a Meal of Mercy at the church hall.

Memorial service will be held Sunday April 19, 2026, after the Divine Liturgy in the Hellenic Center at the Transfiguration of our Savior Greek Orthodox Church followed by coffee hour.
