George "Jeep" Perry Ballentine

October 12, 1926 — August 30, 2014

George “Jeep” Perry Ballentine, 87, of Quinby, SC, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2014, at a local hospital. Mr. Ballentine was born in Ballentine, SC, a son of the late George Milford Ballentine and Eula Mae Amick Ballentine.As a member of “Our Greatest Generation”, he was a US Navy Veteran of WWII.He retired from Socar as an accountant.Mr. Ballentine loved working in the yard, sports, hunting and fishing and all things Gamecock. Surviving are his wife of fifty-seven years, Mary Hutchinson Ballentine; his sisters, Vera Dukes of Aiken and Lauretta O’Keeffe of Matthews and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Florence Humane Society, P. O.
