GEORGE C. CROWDER, JR. FLORENCE, S.C. GEORGE C. CROWDER, JR., 77, of Florence, formerly of Danville, VA, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 28, 2012. He was born March 28, 1935 in Stanleytown, VA, a son of the late George C. and Ruth Terry Crowder. He was in the auto parts business in Danville, VA, for many years, and later was in mobile home sales for over twenty years in Florence. Mr. Crowder is survived by his wife, Nancy Border Crowder; three sons, Michael K. (Debbie) Crowder of Danville, Ronald R. (Gail) Crowder of Myrtle Beach and Daniel Paul (Marjorie) Crowder of Charleston; one daughter, Donna C. White of Danville; his step-son, Chris Collis of Glen Allen, VA; three sisters, Jane (Roger) Mitchell, Lois Walker, and Carolyn (David) Dowdy all of Danville, VA; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah C. Boaz and a brother, Vernon Crowder. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 30, 2012 in the chapel of Florence Baptist Temple, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00P.M. Tuesday at the chapel of Florence Baptist Temple. Interment will take place at a later date in Highland Burial Park in Danville, VA, directed by Wrenn-Yeatts Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, National Center, 7272 Greenville Ave. Dallas, TX 75231.
