Genevieve Oliver Vause

Genevieve Oliver Vause, 95, of Darlington, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017, which would have been her 80th wedding anniversary. She was born in Florence Co., SC a daughter of the late Benjamin Oliver and Jane Oliver.She was a charter member of First Free Will Baptist Church where she was a longtime Sunday School teacher for young people and golden agers and a member of the church choir.She had worked with Electro-Motive and the Young Pecan Company. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, A.J. Vause; son, Billy Vause; daughters-in-law, Penny Vause and Lisa Vause, and all of her siblings. Surviving are her sons, David M. “Mickey” Vause of Okeechobee, FL and A.J. “Jimmy” Vause of Warrenville, SC; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and her caregiver, Missy Allen. Memorials may be made to the McLeod Hospice of the Pee Dee, PO Box 100551, Florence, SC29502, www.mcleodfoundation.org or to the First Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, 2624 W. Palmetto Street, Florence, SC29501. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 PM Monday, September 18, 2017 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home and other times at the home of Sharon Weatherford. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday in the Florence Memorial Gardens chapel.Entombment will follow in the mausoleum.
