Geneva Eleanor Oakley Hyman, 82, of Pamplico, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017. Mrs. Hyman was born in Pamplico, a daughter of the late Daniel Walter Oakley and Mattie Ettaphine Oakley.She retired as dietician from Hanna-Pamplico High School after 29 years and attended Beulah Baptist Church. She enjoyed vegetable gardening, cooking and being with her family. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Joey Fludd and sister, Lois Black. Mrs. Hyman is survived by her husband of 64 years, Liston “Buck” Hyman, Jr.; daughters, Ettaphine Hyman McKnight (Joe) of Florence, Vicky Hyman Gordon (Harry) of Pamplico and Tammy Hyman Sealy (Wendell) of Smyrna, TN; eight grandchildren, Joey (Rachel) McKnight, Carmen McKnight, Jonathan (Joy) McKnight, Jim (Beth) Gordon, Robert (Julie) Gordon, Jessica (Chris) Ringley, Ashley (David) Peterman and Samuel Sealy and his fiance’, Eden; thirteen great-grandchildren, Misty McKnight, Kevin McKnight, Cameron McKnight, Lacey Gordon, Ethan Isgett, Luke Gordon, David Gordon, Eden McKnight, Andrew Gordon, Ava Ringley, Hattie McKnight, Kenzi McKnight and Caleb Gordon; brother, Buck Oakley of Jacksonville, NC; and sister, Virginia Lee Coleman of Florence. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Tuesday at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in the Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.
