Gene Allen Poston

Gene Allen Poston, 67, of Florence, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018. Mr. Poston was born in Pamplico, SC a son of the late Ludie Poston and Ozelee Powell Poston.He worked with the Florence Housing Authority, was an auto mechanic, and loved the river.Gene was a loving husband, father, and Papa. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ray Poston and Laverne Poston, and by a sister, Leila Faye Gray. Surviving are his wife, Brenda Parker Poston of Florence; daughter, Jeana (David) Foust of Darlington; grandchildren, Cheyanne Foust and Dakota Foust; a sister, Patsy (Little Man Nettles) McKenzie of Johnsonville; sister-in-laws, Emma Jean(John) Morrison and Shelby Poston, and by several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home and other times at the residence of Gene and Brenda. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.Burial will follow in Darlington at the Selph Foust Cemetery.
