Gene Edward Hill

Gene Edward Hill, a beloved son, husband, father, and family man, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on Friday, October 22, 1943,

Gene was the son of the late William Edward Hill and Mary Louise Parks Hill. He was also preceded in death by his devoted wife, Cubie Jean Stafford Hill, and their dear son, Timothy Fred Hill.

He is survived by his loving siblings: sisters Linda Lively of Chesterfield, SC; Faye Dunn of Star, NC; Cheryl Williams of Jacksonville, NC; and his brother Rodney Hill of Columbia, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. Their close-knit family ties provided Gene with much joy and support throughout his life.

Gene served his country with distinction as a member of the United States Air Force, where he retired as a Master Sergeant and retired from the United States Post Office, where he developed a passion for electronics. This passion became his career, and he enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as an Electronic Technician. His skill and dedication to his work were respected by all who knew him. He enjoyed having conservations with people, and he never met a stranger.

A dedicated and faithful man, Gene's life will be celebrated at a private graveside service at Florence National Cemetery. His family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his memory to a charity of one's choice.
